During the following period, eligible nationals entering South Korea are temporarily exempted from applying for Electronic Travel Authorization (K-ETA).
However, this is limited to those entering South Korea for a short-term stay of 90 days or less, such as for sightseeing, visiting acquaintances, business, etc. A visa is required for study abroad, working holiday, etc.

※K-ETA already issued can be used until its expiration date.
※If you wish to enter Japan under a temporary exemption without applying for a K-ETA, or if you wish to enter Japan with a valid visa, you must submit an Entry Declaration Form. The declaration form will be distributed at the Port of Hakata and onboard the ship.
※New K-ETA application is possible even during the exemption period.(Application fee is required)
・Nationals requiring an Electronic Travel Authorization (K-ETA) must apply at least 72 hours prior to departure.
Visa or K-ETA will be confirmed at check-in at Hakata Port.
In the case of K-ETA, please prepare the approval screen of the application result (a screen shot or a printout is fine, but the screen showing all passport information), and in the case of an electronic visa (a type that does not have a sticker attached to the passport), please prepare a printed “VISA GRANT NOTICE”.
